D’or et de Noir is a hymn-tune dedicated to two of the composer’s close bands: the Hauts-de-France Brass Band, which created many of his works, and the wind band Opus 92, from the composer’s hometown of Villefranche-sur-Saône, when both of bands celebrated their 30th anniversaries on 2022. The title refers to the uniform of the brass band, and the tradition of the « conscrits » in Villefranche, where peoples parade when you start a new decade, with a black hat and a yellow ribbon if you are 30th.
